2nd DAY:
We begin from our hotel and through to Galanado we are going to Chalki Village.

The village of Chalki is located in the central area of the region of Tragea which is the biggest olive cultivation area of the Cyclades, 16 kilometres from Chora, or Naxos Town.
Chalki has a long history and was once the capital of Naxos as well as its main administrative and trade centre, the many neo-classical houses and buildings testify about the past wealth and power of the village.

The Valindra Kitron distillery is in the heart of the village and can be entered for free. You are given a tour of the site where the famous Kitron of the area is made. It's interesting to see the workings up close and the tour gives plenty of interesting facts, not least that the liquid is actually made from Citron leaves. The tour ends, naturally, with some sampling of the product as well as Ouzo which is also made here.

After Chalki we meet Filoti village.

Filoti is situated 19 kilometres from the capital of Naxos, in a beautiful verdant valley near the mountain of Zas. The village is situated on quite a steep hill and the main street contains the main life in terms of cafe and restaurants. It is a traditional Cycladic village built amphitheatrically on the slopes of the mountain with whitewashed flat roofed houses and narrow flowered streets. Filoti has a superb little main paved square surrounded by picturesque cafes and taverns, shadowed by a huge and majestic plane tree. Churches are plenty and are worth exploring.

The Cave of Zas in Filoti, Naxos, comprises various interesting materials and objects dating back to the pre-historic times. This is evident of the fact that this cave was used in the pre-historic era. Tourists can get to see here tools made of obsidian, which were used in the ancient days. Many other unique traces of the ancient life are to be noted in this amazing cave in Naxos. The Cave of Zas in Filoti, Naxos thus requires a visit. It not only provides an insight into the geology of the earlier ages, but also let the tourists know more about the life and culture of the ancient people. It is a perfect place for the nature lovers too.

After the visit of Zas cave we can return to Filoti to eat!!

We continue (trough to Chalki) to Damalas village.

Damalas is one of the smallest villages in Naxos. It is placed on a small hill. Two traditional monuments make this small village popular for tourists, the traditional olive press and the pottery work shop. The olive press was built in 1850, a date that makes the building an antiquity. It was used until 1960 and after the reconstruction made it is now a monumental museum. Also it is worth to watch the process of making the handmade ceramics and maybe buy a small souvenir. Damalas is a village where tranquillity is disturbed only by the noise of nature.

In the road for our return we meet Bazeos Tower, where we can make a small stop.

It is located on the 12th km of the main road linking the Chora of Naxos with the interior. It was built circa 1600 and served as a monastery of the Holy Cross until the beginning of the 19th century, when it was abandoned by the last monks and devolved upon the then emergent Hellenic State. In the late 19th century it was purchased by the Bazeos family, to whose descendants it belongs until today.
Since 2000 exhibitions are organized in the tower's interior, while the FESTIVAL OF NAXOS, which includes concerts, theatrical performances and cultural activities, is organized in the forecourt from July to September. In 2008 the thematic axis of Festival is "Art and Madness"

We return back to our property and we enjoy free our evening to the hotel pool or at the beach.
